Title: An Approach for Creating High Impact Research Results        

Abstract:      

A successful research also means a clear and structural approach for dissemination of research results. Independent of the quality of the research results, their presentation must be according to the accepted standards, ensuring a high impact when published/presented. Every research activity must be based on the clearly defined motivation and results achieved in the past. But, how to ensure that the research activities will lead to a “novel research”? In this Seminar, a methodology for a structural and creative research, will be discussed and presented. Furthermore, the specific focus of the Seminar will be on the methodology for presenting research results in the form of a conference/journal paper. Through several illustrative examples a detailed assessment of the proposed paper skeleton will be demonstrated, also those from the experience of the Seminar presenter. The same methodology can be implemented for the preparation of presentations, writing Dissertations, Thesis and other documents in which research results are presented.

PRESENTER’S BIOGRAPHY    

 

 

<!--[if !vml]-->Prof Vladimir is the EPSRC Chair Professor in Power Systems Engineering in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Manchester. Before joining the School in July 2006, he has spent six years with ABB, Germany, where he provided technical expertise on switchgear, power system protection and distribution automation. He is currently principal investigator (PI) on a number of industry and UK government funded projects focused on the Smart Grid research and the specific topic Wide Area Monitoring, Protection and Control Systems. His main research interests are in the application of robust and flexible methods for power system monitoring, control, and protection, as well as switchgear and DSP applications in power systems. Prof Terzija is Humboldt Research Fellow, Senior Member of the IEEE, and Member of the IET and Cigré. He is an active member of the North American SynchroPhasor Initiative (NASPI). He is currently convenor of the Cigré Working Group B5.14 “Wide Area Protection and Control Technologies” and a contributing member of several IEEE working groups. Prof Terzija has published over 290 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and in proceedings of international conferences. In his research team, he has currently 7 MSc project students, 10 PhD students and 5 Postdoctoral Research Associates. He is the Visiting Professor at the Shandong University (Jinan, China) and University of Malaya (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). From 2013 Prof is Taishan Scholar, leading a research team at the Shandong University.
